| Steps for Activation: |
The new law states that a local law enforcement agency, after verifying an abduction has taken place, notifies the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. CBI then confirms the accuracy of the information and informs KOA, the states designated Emergency Alert System station. KOA then issues the alert to radio and television stations and cable systems statewide. |

2. The child must be in immediate danger of serious bodily harm or death.
3. There must be enough descriptive information to believe a broadcast will assist or help in the recovery
