Participating Agencies and Organizations:

Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, Wyoming Department of Transportation, Wyoming Broadcasters Association, National Weather Service, Wyoming Highway Patrol, Wyoming Sheriffs and Chiefs Association.

Steps for Activation:

Local law enforcement, after verifying an abduction has taken place notifies the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation.  DCI verifies and confirms the accuracy of the information and informs the National Weather Service, who broadcasts the Alert, via EAS.

Scope of Amber Alert:

Statewide

Criteria for Activation:

1.   Confirmation by Law Enforcement that a child has been abducted.
2.  The abducted child is 17 years of age or younger.
3.  Circumstances surrounding the abduction indicate that the child is in danger of serious bodily harm or death.
4.  Sufficient descriptive information exists about the child, the abductor, and/or the  suspect’s vehicle to believe an immediate broadcast alert will help.
