Offenders Required to Register: Adult felony sex offenders and any juvenile offenders designated as a youthful offender under Kentucky State Law.
Information Collected: Social security number, date of birth, physical description, aliases, description of crime, address.
Administrating Agency: Kentucky State Police, Department of Corrections, probation/parole officer.
Timeframe for Registration: Immediately upon release; 5 days for out of state offenders entering Kentucky; in Kentucky - on or before the day of changing address.
Applies to Out of State Offenders: Yes
Duration of Requirement: Lifetime registration for individuals who have multiple convictions or have been convicted of 1st degree rape, 1st degree sodomy or 1st degree kidnapping of a minor. All others must register for 10 years.
Verification of Address: Lifetime registrants are verified every 90 days, 10 year registrants are verified annually.
Penalties for Non-Compliance: Class D felony.
Access to Information: All offenders registered in Kentucky can be accessed on the Internet at: http://kspsor.state.ky.us/
Confidentiality Provision: No
