| Offenders Required to Register: |
Any person convicted of the sex offenses listed in Tennessee Code Annotated, §40-39-202(17) and (24). Further, any person convicted in another jurisdiction of an offense that can be classified as one of the offenses listed above. The sentence for the sexual offense must have been in existence as of January 1, 1995 or afterwards.

Photograph, name, aliases, date and place of birth, social security number, drivers license number, conviction information, place and length of employment, address and length of residence; and if on supervised release - name, address, and phone number of person responsible for supervision. |
| Administrating Agency: |
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is the central repository for the records of the Sex Offender Registry. TBI also maintains the Registry’s website. Actual registration of sex offenders is done by law enforcement agencies and parole/probation offices across Tennessee.

| Timeframe for Registration: |
Within 48 hours of: being released from prison in Tennessee, establishing a residence in Tennessee, accepting employment in Tennessee, becoming a student in Tennessee, being released onto probation (supervised or unsupervised) in Tennessee, entering Tennessee under the Interstate Compact Act, entering Tennessee after deportation, or after any re-incarceration.

| Duration of Requirement: |
Sexual offenders (not violent offenders) may apply for termination from the Registry ten years after expiration of their sentences.

Local law enforcement agencies and probation/parole officers are responsible for verifying the addresses of the offenders they register. |

Violation of the Registry law is a Class E felony with mandatory jail time. |
| Access to Information: |
Only those offenders who committed their crimes on or after July 1, 1997 are shown on the internet, pursuant to Tennessee state law. Other offenders are contained on a confidential portion of the Registry. Only relevant information as to specific offenders on the confidential portion of the Registry may be released by local law enforcement for the protection of the public. |
